Genie spent her entire childhood in isolation. She was kept in a dark room and had no interactions with the outside world.
When found she was unable to walk, communicate with language and was still wearing nappies. Genie could have inherited genes that predisposed her to be intelligent, articulate etc. But due to the environment she was 'raised' in she was unable to fulfil her full potential.
