    a brief summary of the whole report, written last but comes at the start and its a 15-250 word summary of main aims, methods, results and conclusion
  • Introduction
    • literature review of relevant studies which the current one is based on
    • develops a rationale for why the current study is being conducted and will finish with a statement of the aims followed by the hypothesis
  • Method
    • design of experiment
    • methodological choices
    • participants, sample size demographic
    • materials/apparatus used
    • ethical procedures and how they were dealt with
  • Results
    • descriptive statistics
    • a statement of whether the results appear to be in direction of hypothesis
    • details of any inferential stats calculated, if quantitative data used
  • Discussion
    • end part of a report
    • explanation of the findings
    • limitations, which leads into modifications
    • then talks about the implications of the research
  • Referencing
    • JOURNAL
    • Author (s) , date, article title, journal name (in italics) , volume, page numbers
    • BOOK
    • Author, date, title of book (italics) , place of publication, publisher
