  Engulf and digest microorganisms in phagocytosis

  Liquid part of blood. transports blood cells, food, molecules, carbon dioxide, hormones and urea
• What will happen if red blood cells are placed in water?

  They will take in the water by osmosis and burst in a process called cell lysis.
• Purpose of platelets?

  Convert fibrinogens to fibrin in blood clotting - fibrin forms mesh to trap blood - and in formation of scabs.
