  • How many levels are there to Kohlberg's theory of moral development?
    Level 1 - Preconventional moral reasoning
    Level 2 - Conventional moral reasoning
    Level 3 - Postconventional moral reasoning
  • what is level 1 - preconventional moral reasoning?
    right and wrong is determined by what is likely to lead to punishment or what is best for the individual
  • what is level 2 - conventional moral reasoning?
    right and wrong is determined by the approval of others or by the rules and laws.
  • what is level 3 - post conventional moral reasoning?
    right and wrong is relative to either a groups needs or from a perspective of human rights and dignity.
  • what are the two types of cognitive distortions?
    hostile attribution bias and minimalisation
  • what is Hostile attribution bias?
    The tendency to interpret neutral behaviour from others as threatening or menacing. And so, you misinterpret and mis read their actions leading to aggressive behaviour such as assault.
  • what is minimalisation?
    The belief in the triviality of your own offence, minimising the importance and the scale of your actions. A cognitive bias where self deception and denial occurs where you think you have done much wrong.
