This gives meaning to the play or drama as opposed to what happens. The sometimes stated in the title or maybe stated through a dialogue by a character acting as the playwright's voice. The theme may also be less obvious and would only emerge after some study or thought
Action / plot
This is the list of events happening. The plot must have some sort of unity and clarity by setting up a pattern by which each action initiating the next rather than standing alone without connection.
Characters
People represented in the play that are involved in the perusing plot.
Language
The word choices made by the playwright and the annunciation of the actors of the language. Language and dialog delivered by the characters move the plot and action along, it provides exposition and defines the distinct characters
Music
Not a part of every play but it can be included to mean all sounds in a production. It can include sound effects, actors' voices, songs, and instrumental music
Spectacle
