    Procedure
    1. 16 newborn monkeys were kept in a cage
    2. In the cage they had a wire mother with milk and a cloth mother without food
    3. Time spent with each mother was recorded

    Findings
    • Monkeys spent most time on the cloth mother and only went to the wire mother for food
    • Maternal deprivation has a permanent effect
