  Specific brain areas do particular jobs.
• What does damage to the motor area do?

  Damage to left hemisphere affects right side of body, and vice versa.
• What does damage to the somatosensory area entail?

  Most sensitive body parts take up most ‘space’.

  Damage means less ability to feel pain.
• What does damage to the visual area do?

  Damage to left hemisphere affects right visual field of each eye, and vice versa.
• What does damage to the auditory area do?

  Damage can lead to deafness.
• Where are the language areas localised to?

  Left hemisphere.
• What does damage to the Broca’s area do?

  Leads to difficulty remembering and forming words.
• What does damage to the Wernicke’s area do?

  Leads to difficulty understanding and producing meaningful words.
