• Prose is a style that does not follow a structure of rhyming or meter.
• Prose comes from the Latin word "Prosa Oratio."
• Prosa Oratio means "straightforward."
• Poetry is a type of literature or artistic writing that attempts to stir a reader's imagination or emotions.
• Poetry comes from the Greek word, "Poeisis," which means "making."
• Fiction: short stories, novels, poems, and plays. They are either prose, or poetry, or both.
• Novel is a work of 50,000 words or more and is around 70 pages.
• Novella is a work of at least 17,500 words but under 50,000 words or 60-170 pages.

• Conflict is the problem that needs to be resolved at the end of the story.
