  • What happened first during the Beer Hall Putsch
    The leader of Bavaria at the time Von Kahr held an important meeting in a beer hall
    Hitler and 600 of his Nazi supporters stormed into the meeting
    Hitler climbed onto a table and shouted "The national revolution has begun"
  • What happened second during the Beer Hall Putsch
    General Ludendorff (a WW1 hero) promised to support Hitler because he was impressed with what he was planning
    Hitler took the main leaders attending the event were taken to a side room and 'persuaded' to support Hitler at the point of a gun
    Hitler came out of the room with the leaders and said 'your leaders are with us' which gave the impression that the Putsch had succeeded

    Hitler left general Ludendorff in charge of the Beer Hall while Hitler sorted problems out in other parts of the city
    After gaining the promise of support, he let the leaders go free
    Von Kahr put out a statement saying he had only supported Hitler because he was being threatened with a gun and all that he said was now null

    On hearing the Bavarian leaders had withdrawn their support, Hitler decided to march on the centre of Munich to gain the publics support
    Hitler and Ludendorff led 3000 Nazis into the centre where they found they were blocked by police
    A standoff occurred which resulted in 14 Nazi members and 3 police men were killed in the standoff
    Hitler and Ludendorff were later captured and put on trial

    Hitler also wrote his book, Mein Kampf, in prison
