growing bacteria

• what is the equipment needed for growing bacteria?

  tape, Petri dish, pipette
• method for growing bacteria:

  1. sterilise the petri dish to kill any unwanted bacteria
  2. pour hot agar jelly into the dish to cool and set
  3. use the pipette to place the microorganisms onto the agar jelly and spread evenly
  4. lightly tape the lid on top(to stop the air getting in) and store upside-down (to prevent condensation falling)
