    reagent = benedicts
    add benedict's to the food and boil in a water bath
    blue - black to brick red

    reagent = iodine
    add iodine to food
    yellow - brown to blue - black

    reagent = biuret
    add biuret to food
    blue to lilac
  • testing for fat

    reagent = ethanol
    add ethanol to dissolve the fat then add water
    colourless to white emulsion
