    This study is designed to investigate whether more females than males would be classified as ‘agentic’ or ‘autonomous
     
  • What was the procedure of the social psychology practical?
    • This is a self-report study using both structured and unstructured questionnaires about obedience,  By gathering data from a range of participants.  
    • The sample is gathered with questionnaire data using questions such as – “leader or follower” and “society needs laws” and participants answering using a ranked scale.                           
  • What did the sample consist of in the social psychology practical?
    The sample is an opportunity sample of 15 people there is 7 females and 8 males between 18 and over 60.

    • Men answered to be more autonomous
    • equally females and males to be a 'leader'
  • strengths of social psychology practical:
    • the opportunity sample method is easy as there isn't lots of planning that goes ahead beforehand.
    • Questionnaires are also very simple at arranging as they are all the same questions to each participant that are being answered and using a ranked scale answering method is good at answering the questions simply but also indicating their opinion with “strongly” agree instead of just agree.  
  • Weaknesses of social psychology practical:
    • The downside of opportunity sampling is that there is no control over who is recruited and not everyone in the target population has an equal chance of being selected.
    • Normally a question air may not answer questions in enough detail but as the sample is only measuring number to compare there is no need for explanations.  
  • what are the problems with using questionnaires ?
    Can be social desirability bias surrounding the answers
  • what is an improvement that could be made to social practical?
    Questions could be changed to have a more naturalistic wording when asking about how obedient an individual is which removes issues associated with participants lying due to it being socially desirable to be autonomous and no so agentic- this allows a more valid findings to be gathered
