Response exercise

Cards (9)

  • BPM average is 70-72 bpm
  • SV average is 70ml
  • Q average is 5L/min
  • Sub-maximal is low to moderate intensity work
  • maximal exercise is working at a high intensity
  • HR MAXIMAL
-Before exercise there is an anticipatory rise in HR because Adrenalin is released to SA node
-HR rises steady as we exercise because the working muscles are demanding more oxygen
-HR reaches a peak at maximum exercise because the verticals can not physically beat faster
-gradual decline in the HR post exercise because muscles demand less oxygen during recovery
  • SV MAXIMAL AND SUB-MAX
-slight rise in SV before exercise because adrenaline is being released from SA node
-SV rapidly increases because muscles need more oxygen
-then SV plateaus because there isn’t enough time for the artery to fill with blood
-SV starts to decline post exercise because the muscles demand less oxygen
  • Q
the maximal is HR x SV
  • Q SUB-MAX plateaing as the demand has been met
