Respiratory pump

• The respiratory pump is in use during exercise because the lungs will breathe more and quickly.
• The veins surrounding the lungs have pressure applied upon them and blood is forced upwards to the right atrium.
• The veins pressure increases and blood is pushed through the valves as they open.
