  • Boling Water
  • Leslie cube
  • Thermometer
  • Infrared detector
• Method

  1. Fill the cube with boliling water
  2. Test the faces of the cube with a thermometer

  • each face should be the same temperature

  1. Using an IR detector, record how the faces cool

  • a graph called a cooling curve can be created
• Results

  • The black face of the cube should cool fastest

  --> because black is a good radiator of heat

  • The white face of the cube should cool more slowly

  --> because white is a poor radiator of heat
