• Physical Development à Upon arrival in the UK, many Romanian orphans were severely underweight and exhibited lack of growth. Children adopted before 6 months exhibited substantial catch-up growth in terms of height, weight, and head circumference by age 4.  
• However, those adopted after 6 months often showed incomplete recovery, with some continuing to experience stunted growth and developmental delays.
