Unanimity- normative social influence
People conformed due to feeling self-conscious and were afraid of disapproval.

Can account for behaviour in the realworld.
Individual differences- normative social influence
It doesn't work for all people as some people do not care if they are liked or not.
Overlap of the explanations
It is difficult to conclude which explanation causes which type of conformity.
