  • The Ari Pacis was another example of Pax Romana. The front was filled with swirls, intricate details and designs featuring imagery of columns and scenes.
  • Augustus commissioned this religious structure because at that time, Roman people were extremely religious and relied on certain gods to help them in various parts of their lives, for e.g. they may worship to Neptune if they were fishers. This way, Romans would support him if they knew they shared the same beliefs.
  • The altar in the Ari Pacis was known as a an Ara, and was place for offerings to be made. It was greatly influenced by the Greeks and was the First Renaissance of Greece and Athens.
  • The first renaissance featured that of art and architecture, statues, writing and literature. For example Augustus wrote his book Aenaid, where Aenaus founder of Rome goes down to the underworld and meets Augustus and discovers they are related. This was to make the people of Rome believe he was noble and honourable just like Aenaus
