    • Atypical sex chromosomes = variations of the sex chromosomes not the typical XX and XY chromosome pattern
    • Klinefelter's syndrome = affects males in which an individual's genotype has an extra X chromosome (XXY) = makes them more feminine
    • Turner's syndrome = Affects females where women have only one X chromosome rather than (XX)
    • Turner's syndrome:
      1. Have broad 'shield' chest
      2. Do not have a menstrual cycle
      3. Do not develop breasts
      4. Higher than average reading ability
      5. Physically immature and tend to retain the appearance of pre-pubescent girls
    • Klinefelter's syndrome characteristics:
      1. Reduced body hair compared to a 'normal' male
      2. Passive, shy and lack interest in sexual activity
      3. Does not respond well to stressful situations
      4. Underdeveloped genitals
      5. Breast development during puberty
