  • what is a temperate deciduous forest?
    forests found mainly mid-latitudes where there are four distinct seasons. deciduous trees loose their leaves in the winter to cope with colder weather
  • what is a tundra?
    tundras are found at high latitudes above (60N), winters are very cold, summers are short and there is little rainfall. there are little trees.
  • what are the two types of grassland?
    savannah grassland and temperate grassland
  • what is a savannah grassland?
    these grasslands are found between tropics and have dry and wet seasons, but relatively low rainfall, mostly grass with a few trees
  • what is a temperate grassland?
    these grasslands are found in higher latitudes where there is more variation in tempratures and less rainfall. there are no trees
  • what is a boreal forest?
    also known as tagia, found between 50-60N, winters are cold and dry summers are mild and moist. trees are coniferous (evergreen, and have needels)
