• What is homeostasis?

  Maintenance of a stable internal environment despite changed caused by internal or external stimuli (changes)
• What are specific conditions that must be kept at a certain level?

  • blood glucode - metabolism and osmosis
  • body temp and pH - enzymes
  • blood water potential - osmosis
• Homeostasis

  Receptors in organs detect charnges in internal or extermal enviroment (stimuli) → Information is sent via hormones or nervous impules → coordinates process information (e.g brain, spinal cord, pancreas) → hormones or nervous impulses → effectors are organs which respnd to the stimulus either glands or muslces → the body responds to the change → process restarts
