  -Psychologist studied two different cultures collectivist and individualistic. Found that those with insecure attachment type most likely to form PSR with a TV personality.

  -Findings were consistent across both cultures.

  -This suggests PSR is not a production of cultural influences.
• -MuCutcheon studied attachment type of Americans. She found no significant

  associations between attachment type and whether they were in a PSR.

  -There's another explanation called absorption addiction model.
• Methodological issues

  -Relies on self-report. Issues of retrospective inferences or SDB. This reduces validity which my impact the conclusions.

  -Correlation not causation, moly associations have been found between attachment type and engagement in PSR.

  -It's unable to explain progression through the levels.
