Strand one:
The liberal approach that views Christianity'spatriarchal beliefs and structures as problematic, since it denies women's fundamental rights to equality with men
Strand two:
The biblical approach that draws upon texts. Biblical scholars who are Christian feminists may in this way ascribe to God qualities typically associated with women, and draw out the importance of women in the Gospels
Strand three:
The radical approach which claims that the Christian story is a (patriarchal) myth and which wishes to speak of God in other, gender-inclusive terms
