  Some characteristics (e.g. aggression) are inherited because they aid the survival of an organism
• What is survival of the fittest?

  Organisms who are suited to their environment will survive
• How does evolution link to aggression?

  > Humans have evolved to be aggressive

  > Protect offspring; Steiner - protecting offspring is one of the few times women are as aggressive as men

  > Protect a mate; sexual jealousy, men defend 'his' female

  > Securing resources; protecting things like food
