  • Step 1
    Carefully measure out 40cm*3 of sulphuric acid (can be hydrochloric) into measuring cylinder then pour into beaker
  • Step 2
    To speed up the reaction place beaker on a blue flame for about 30 seconds
  • Step 3
    Add copper oxide until excess into beaker to make sure all the acid is neutralised
  • Step 4
    Remove untreated copper oxide in the beaker by filtering it.
  • Step 5
    Pour the filtered solution into an evaporating basin and heat it to get the water out
  • Step 6
    Heat it over a beaker of water
  • Step 7
    After heating the basin for 10 minutes take it off and you should be left with dry copper sulphate crystals
