  The congregation is gathered. Then, they start the mass off with the sign of the cross to pray to God. Priest greet the congregation in Christs name. The priest covers his clothes with vestments.

  Penitential rites allow catholics or the congregation to think about their sins.

  During the liturgy of the word, the Old Testament and New Testament is read depending on the season.
