Density is a measure of the ’compactness’ of a substance - relates the mass to how much space it takes up (mass per unit volume)
Density = Mass / Volume
The density of an object depends on what it’s made of - how its particles are arranged
A dense material has its particles packed tightly together
In a less dense material the particles are spread out - if compressed it would become more dense ( mass wouldn’t be changed but volume would be decrease )
