• 1499, Erasmus (dutch scholar) visits England, and meets with scholars who became tutors to H8. his teachings set out to highlight the misuse of wealth and extravagance in the church and the corruption of the clergy.
• Erasmus teachings marked the beginning of learning and reform within the catholic church, his influence was high up given the scholars he influenced becoming tutors to H8
