  • The representation of women has historically been stereotypical, as Bond Girls who are the beautiful 'love interest' are often insignificant to the narrative are disposable (Propps princess)
  • Representation of gender in the Bond franchise has evolved representing the social context
  • Craig's Bond is not as sexist and overly stereotypical as early portrayals of the character and reflects more contemporary notions of masculinity as he's older, more thoughtful, more vulnerable. The poster vaguely shows this as it needs to communicate the genre and narrative
  • Shift in representation of race and ethnicity has shifted. Two events that altered this was the #OscarsSoWhite and George Floyd's death
  • Aston Martin has a longstanding relationship with the franchise. On the poster Bond can be seen in a DB5 which is the first Aston Martin used in the films by Sean Connery in 1964
  • Dr Madeleine Swann is on the poster twice as one of Bond's love interests she would be recognisible to fans
  • Nomi's assignment as 007 was the first black and female agent so she was trolled online by racists
  • The guns and weapons are relatively small to abide by ASA guidelines and are not actively being used
  • James Bond is an action hero who since 1960s embodies historical masculine stereotypes such as strength, skill, and independance
