• Method for Investigating Acceleration?

  1. Draw straight lines 20 cm apart, perpendicular to the bench edge.
  2. Attach a car to a string, running it over a pulley with a weight stand on the other end.
  3. Hold the weight stand to prevent movement, then release and start the timer.
  4. Stop timing when the car reaches the pulley. Changing force with constant mass:
  5. Add 10g to the weight stack, release, and time the car.
  6. Repeat, increasing the weight by 10g each time. Changing mass with constant force:
  7. Pull the car back to the starting line, release, and time its movement.
