Method for light?
Insert
collimating
slit into
ray
box and turn it on to produce a
narrow
light ray.
Place material
block
on
paper
and
trace
outline.
Draw a
normal
(90° line) at the point where
incident
ray meets the
block.
Mark the
reflected
and
refracted
rays, then
remove
the block and
connect
the points.
Use a
protractor
to measure:
Angle of
incidence
(between incident ray and normal).
Angle of
reflection
(between reflected ray and normal).
Angle of
refraction
(between refracted ray and normal inside the block).
Repeat with different
materials
, using fresh paper each time.
Independent variable (light)?
angle of incidence
Dependent variable (light)?
angle of reflection
Control Variables (light)?
distance of ray box from mirror
width of light beam
frequency
/
wavelength
of light
Safety for light?
make sure glass block doesn't have
sharp
edges
Results of
light
experiment?
