BOTTOM-UP: CAMFED

• CAMFED is a form of Bottom-Up aid. It is an NGO in Iringa, Tanzania.
• CAMFED trained 175 members as Community Health Trainers to provided health information to over 15,500 children.
• CAMFED proved 853 young women with business start up grants and micro-finance loans.
• Educated girls:

  • are 3× less likely to be HIV positive.
  • Their income will increase by up to 25%
  • Their children will be 40% more likely to live beyond the age of 5
  • Will marry 3 years later with 2 fewer children.
