  • FFA is when you are unable to cope with the demands of everyday life , causing distress to the individual or their family
  • Examples can be schizophrenia or intellectual disability disorder
  • Rosenham and Seligman created a list of conditions in 1998 to qualify as not adequately functioning
    Can't perform necessary behaviours for day to day living ( for example self care - maladaptiveness )
    Can't hold down a job
    Can't interact meaningfully with others and make themselves understood etc ( causes observer discomfort )
