  • Produces adrenaline which is used to prepare the body for a fight or flight response
• What is the role of the pancreas?

  To produce insulin and regulate blood sugar levels.
• What is the role of the ovaries?

  • Produce oestrogen used in the menstrual cycle
• What is the role of the testes?

  • To produce testosterone which controls puberty and sperm production
• What is the difference between hormones and nerves?

  • Nerves are: faster, act for a shorter time, act on a precise area
  • Hormones are: Slower, act for a longer time, act in a more general way
