Series

• all components are in the same loop
• the current is the same through each component
• the total potential difference from the power supply is shared between the components
• the total resistance of all components is the sum of the resistance from each component
• the current through all components can be changed by adding or removing components (for example, adding a resistor in series with a component would decreases the current through that component)
