Schechter Poultry Corporation signed up to the NRA codes
They were displaying the NRA blue eagle, whilst not following policy - broke the rules in terms of employee wages and the conditions in which they kept their birds.
The Corporation claimed the federal government had no power over their trade in response to their being found out and the supreme court agreed.
This caused the NRA to be effectively closed down and subsequent to this other alphabet agencies also closed down.
Roosevelt's response:
