Correlation

    Cards (5)

    • What is correlation?
      It is the relationship or difference between two covariables which are continuous quantitative data.
    • What is the correlation coefficients for weak, moderate and strong?
      Weak = 0 to - or +3
      Moderate= - or +3 to -or +6
      Strong= over - or + 6
    • what are correlation coefficients and what does their values mean?
      They show the strength and the direction of a relationship between tow covariables. when r=1 this shows a perfect positive correlation, when r=-1 this shows a perfect negative correlation and when r=0 this shows no correlation.
    • What are the strengths of correlational research?
      • they are effective preliminary research which can lead to further research depending on outcomes
      • Allows investigating variables which can not be manipulated experimentally due to ethical and practical reasons
      • It’s quick, easy and cost effective
    • What is a weakness of correlational research?
      Cannot establish causation
