    • To check the brakes are working they shouldn’t feel spongy or slack when pressed down and the car should not pull to one side
    • Information for the recommended tyre pressures is in the manufacturer’s guide,use a reliable pressure gauge
      Adjust when tyres are cold
    • Head restraint must be the rigid part in line with the eyes or top of ears
    • Checking for tyres tread depth there should be no cuts or bulges and tread depth should be 1.6mm
    • to check the headlights and tail lights are working you’d operate the switch and walk around to the back or the vehicle
    • If there was a problem with the anti lock braking system a warning light will illuminate
    • To check the direction indicators are working you’d switch on the indicator or hazard lights and walk around the vehicle to check
    • To check brake lights are working,operate the brake pedal and use reflections of windows or cars to see,or ask someone to help
    • To check power assisted steering is working is that it should not feel heavy,before starting the journey,apply a tiny bit of pressure to the steering to see if it moves
    • To switch on the rear fog lights you’d turn on the switch ,maybe after dipped headlights,and a warning light comes on.Should be used when visibility is reduced by 100m
    • Switching headlights from dipped to main-operate switch and see if warning light comes on
