    E: Anger management teaches behavioural skills and cognitive strategies to try reduce the aggression and control the anger of offenders.
    E: Cognitive explanations have proved valuable in helping to reduce aggression in violent offenders.

    E: Kennedy and Grubin- reviewed sex offenders' accounts and found that they often downplayed their behaviour by suggesting the victim's behaviour had some role to play.
    E: Supports the role that minimalisation can play in CB in particular sex offences.

    E: Maruna and Mann~ Cognitive distortions such as minimalisation are used by everyone. Natural to blame events on external sources and minimize our involvements in negative situations.
    E: Cognitive distortions are not particularly deviant and if most people use them, they can't be used to explain why some people commit crimes and others don't which questions the validity of this theory.
