Probability*

Cards (13)

  • Event - an outcome
  • ∪ - union "or"
  • ∩ - intersection "and"
  • Sample Space - all possible outcomes
  • Universal Set - all possible outcomes which all other sets are subsets
  • Independence - one event isn't affected by another
  • Mutually exclusive - there is no intersection
  • Symbol for sample space - Є
  • Conditional probability - probability of an event, given another event has already occured
  • P(A|B) means probability of A given B has already occured.
  • Bayes Theorem - P(A|B) = (P(B|A)*P(A)) / P(B)
  • P(A|B) = P(A∩B) / P(B)
  • P(A∩B) = P(B|A) x P(A) (Dependent Law)
