Six events

• The Chanak Affair was when Britain asked Canada for military help but Canada declined
• The Halibut Treaty was when Canada and the USA worked out an agreement on fishing for Halibut. Canada signed the treaty as a separate nation
• The King Byng Crisis was when Byng refused to dissolve Parliament and call an election when King requested it. King accused Byng of ignoring him. King was determined to clarify the role of the governor general.
• The Balfour Report was when King imagined Canadians making foreign policy decisions independently , making them as self governing nations
• New Foreign Embassies was when Canada opened its own embassy in the United States
• The Statute of Westminister was when Canada was granted self governance. Britain was unable to enforce any laws on Canada.
