  • What does it mean when variation is genetic?
Caused by differences in genotype. Genotype is all of the genes and alleles that an organism has. An organisms genotype affects its phenotype - the characteristics it displays.
  • How does environment affect a phenotype?
As conditions which an organism lives in can be different like a plant would grow luscious and green on a sunny windowsill.
  • Most variation in phenotype is determined by a mixture of genetic and environmental factors.
