• X-rays have a high frequency and short wavelength so X-ray photons have higher penetrative power

• The anode has 3 components : The anode disc, anode stem and motor
• The 3 ways X-rays are emitted : Absorbed, Penetrated or attenuated
• Attenuation is the reduction of the intensity of an x-ray beam as it traverses matter. The reduction may be caused by absorption or scatter.
• Higher Attenuation = Higher atomic number of tissue
