interaction of systems

Cards (13)

  • All cells need to perform certain activities in order to survive. These activities include:
    • obtaining energy and materials from the environment
    • storing materials
    • eliminating excess water
    • transporting substances to where they are needed
    • growing and reproducing
  • Similarly, most living organisms also need to carry out basic functions such as:
    • obtaining food
    • transporting necessary substances (like nutrients and oxygen) to the cells
    • removing waste from the cells
    • growing and reproducing
  • Simple animals can accomplish these functions with basic arrangements of cells and tissues. However, larger and more complex animals require organ systems to carry out these functions. These organ systems do not work independently, but rather interact with each other to enable the animal to perform all the necessary life processes.
  • Digestive system x circulatory system
  • musculoskeletal system x circulatory system
  • digestive system x musculoskeletal system
  • how do the digestive and circulatory system interact?
the circulatory system distributes nutrients extracted from food by the digestive system
  • how do the musculoskeletal and circulatory system interact?
the circulatory system constantly provides oxygen and nutrients & removes CO2+lactic acid
  • how do the digestive and musculoskeletal system interact?
the liver removes lactic acid from the body when given by the circulatory system
  • the most interacted with system is the circulatory system
  • musculoskeletal system x integumentary system
  • How do birds use the integumentary and musculoskeletal system together
To fly using specialized feathers and light bones
  • How do fish breath with the respiratory and circulatory system?
They take in oxygen through their gills and diffuse it into the bloodstream
