Sexual reproduction in humans

• In humans, like in other mammals, an ovum from a female is fertilized by a sperm from a male, after sexual intercourse.
• The fertilization of an ovum by a sperm produces an embryo in the woman's uterus.
• After 270 days of conception, which is about nine months, an embryo grows into a foetus and then a baby is born.
