  • Chapter 4 - The Carew murder case
    • The chapter opens with a maid recounting how she saw a murder commence in the street below her. She recognised Hyde and that he murdered a respectable, older gentleman - Sir Danvers Carew, a member of parliament.
    • A letter addressed to Utterson is found on Carew's body
    • Utterson takes the police to Hyde's house as he has the address. Hyde's landlady informs them that he is not regularly home, and he had only been to the address once in the last two months
    • They find the murder weapon
