  • Chapter 7 - Incident at the window
    • Enfield and Utterson are walking together when they see a window, to which it looks like there is a prisoner captured in there
    • They call out to this person and encourages them to come outside. He refuses as he feels despondent (sad and low)
    • They have a brief conversation and then Jekyll's face appears at the window. He freezes and vanishes in shock and horror.
    • Enfield and Utterson are deeply disturbed.
  • Chapter 8 - The last night
    • Poole (Jekyll's butler) comes to Utterson as he feels there is something not right about Jekyll.
    • They return to Jekyll's house, and all of the servants are gathered, paralysed by fear in the hall
    • They hear a voice that is not Jekyll's emerge from the locked laboratory door. Poole informs Utterson that the voice has been desperately pleading for a chemical, but the ones provided have not been pure enough
    • Utterson and Poole force their way into the laboratory. They find the malformed body of Hyde on the floor. He is wearing Jekyll's suit which is too large for him
    • There is a will left on the table, dated on that very day leaving everything to Utterson. This accompanies Jekyll's confession and the letter Lanyon had left after his death for Utterson to read
