The thermal energy generated and stored in the Earth. The geothermal energy of the Earth's crust originates from the original formation of the planet and the radioactive decay of materials
How do geothermal power stations work?
in regions with volcanic activity, the ground is naturally hot
so when we pump cold water down into ground, it will be heated by the hot rocks
if this water is pumped back to surface, it can be used to heat our homes
or evaporates into steam
steam can be used to turn turbines which can drive a generator and produce electricity
