Edward's mistakes

• Edward was young and inexperienced when he came to the throne so was bound to make mistakes
• his marriage to Elizabeth Woodville was seen as a mistake and distanced Warwick
• he missed a good opportunity to forge an alliance with France which might have helped him keep the throne
• he made Lord Montagu (Warwick's brother) Earl of Northumberland then returned it to the Percy family as a peacemaking towards the Lancastrian nobility. Causing Montagu to side with his brother as Montagu was a noble who was very loyal to Edward. Which left Edward facing two armies in the north. So Edward fled to Burgundy meaning Henry took the throne
