Clarence's Betrayal

• he proved to be jealous, overly ambitious and greedy. always wanted more land and influence in court
• he resented the woodviles because of their growing influence over Edward and he blamed them for the fact Edward had refused to consent his marriage to Warwick's daughter. Would give Warwick an interest in the succession to the throne as Clarence was heir at the time
• Clarence worked with Warwick in the Lincolnshire rising resulting in the Battle of Losecoat Field
